Happy Canada 🇨🇦 Day (maybe there’s a reason we always say we’re sorry)

This essay was supposed to be about how six years ago today, my family and I celebrated Canada Day in Dubrovnik, Croatia. I had a story ready about a 3-night cruise we enjoyed, with a take-away lesson to prepare for the worst and most likely be surprised on the upside.
